A Bit Floaty

We’re almost there aren’t we? That time of the year that feels ridiculous, that’s counted in days until we get to stop for a while and recover from the year that was.

I’m noticing my own uptick in things to do and places to be and like Coco Chanel I’m taking off at least one piece of (metaphoric) jewellery before I walk out the door each morning. It’s joyous even, the thrill of putting a line through something. Which ball can I let drop today I ask myself? I highly recommend it.

This week I’ve been a bit floaty. I spent the weekend in Melbourne with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and other counsellors who work with Havening Techniques®

I use the word floaty because my body was flooded with safety chemicals all weekend – oxytocin, serotonin, the delta waves we produce when we sleep and others. It felt like a bit of a trip.

I’ve written about Havening before, both here and on Substack and go into the detail of how it works, with links to videos and the science. I’ve also used Havening Touch as a grounding tool with many of my clients for a long time. But using it for trauma reprocessing has been, sigh, all the adjectives, beautiful, nurturing, healing, powerful, connecting and from what the research is showing us, permanent.

We worked on each other over the weekend, just dove right in, and I am noticing how held and how connected to myself I feel. How much lighter and clearer things are.

Time doesn’t heal wounds and memories – a flexible and nourished nervous system does. Havening provides that safe – haven – to allow that to happen.

I’d love to introduce you to Havening as it could apply to your own inner landscape.

It can be used with:
Traumatic memories that still feeling activating and perhaps debilitating;
Phobias
PTSD
C-PTSD
Negative self beliefs
Overwhelm
Fear and self doubt.

Already this week some of my clients have reported significantly less distress after spending about 15minutes of our session going through the exercises. It feels groundbreaking and hopeful.

If you’d like to make a regular appointment online or in-person in Marrickville, you can book in here

You can also find me at The Religious Trauma Collective and on Substack.

Warmly,
Jane
